We have just started our tiny e-shop (it's Mara and John) so please be considerate that we can't afford returns at this moment. We try to take many pictures and display each item's exact measurements for you to have enough information to decide on an order.
We just started this e-shop, and until we get a regular flow of orders, we have opted for a direct communication via email, where you place your order by sending us an email, including the item's url and we send you our paypal and bank info accounts to choose from for your payment.
The price on the items is calculated without tracking. If you would like a tracking number, you can request this in your email, and we will let you know the extra costs for sending a number-tracking parcel to your country.
Our t-shirts are second hand from various brands, so they are all different and unique, that's why we take photos of us wearing them to give you an idea of how they fit. Before placing an order we suggest you measure your best t-shirt and do a size comparison with the cucu t-shirt. All of our t-shirts have detailed measurements on our website, so check these out before ordering.
Yes, we wash and inspect each and every single t-shirt before printing them. All cucu t-shirts are 100% cotton, a natural material that lasts for long long time, and by recycling it, we produce a smaller carbon footprint.
Because it takes a long way to make each t-shirt. We make phone-calls to thrift shops, and roundabouts dowtown Athens to find plain 100% cotton t-shirts, we wash them, dry them, silkscreen them by hand, iron them to set the ink on the fabric, hand write and sew the label, take photos, measure the t-shirt, take notes, update the website, then cycle to post office to ship it your way. Adding to this the time put in making the silkscreen design, get the film, take it to the silkscreen photographer, and get the final silkscreen frame. All these steps considered, we believe our prices are rather fine.
For t-shirts and tea-towels, machine washing up to 30c is fine and tumble dry is okay. However washing with cold water and air drying is preferable for the life of your new towels and (2nd hand) shirts.
All our print related material comes from local companies based in Greece. We get our screens photographed from here, silkscreen paint from here, and packing supplies from shops in the outskirts of Athens. Our zines are printed with our Brother laser printer, and the paper is 160gr Fabriano, not coated. We bind the zines at home with waxed thread from here - they have fantastic colors.
T-shirts are sourced from thrift shops in Athens. Tea-towels are bought new from small local kitchen-ware shops.
The leather comes from left-over pieces from our local shoemaker store.
Pine wood comes from local providers in Keratsini and Athens. For the clogs, the olive wood comes from the small village of Ermioni (east Peloponnese), we buy the pieces that are cut during the olives' pruning.
